On Tuesday, June 10, users worldwide experienced serious access issues with ChatGPT — one of OpenAI’s most popular AI tools. This is confirmed by data from DownDetector, which recorded a sharp increase in outage reports after 4:00 AM Eastern Time (ET).

The report chart from the last 24 hours shows a clear rise in outage notifications:
- 3:30 AM – 4:00 AM ET – first signs of problems, a slight increase in reports.
- 4:30 AM ET – sudden spike: report count exceeded 500.
- Around 6:00 AM ET – number of reports reached 1,500.
- 7:45 AM ET – peak outage: over 1,900 reports at one moment.
- 8:30 AM – 9:30 AM ET – gradual decrease in issues, but still between 1,000 and 700 reports.
- 10:30 AM ET – fewer than 500 reports, but access problems persist.
- 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM ET – reports fall to around 300, with a brief increase to 600 around 11:30 AM.
- 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM ET – situation stabilizes, with reports below 200.
Today’s ChatGPT outage was one of the largest in recent months. Its scale and duration (over 10 hours of active issues) illustrate how heavily global AI tools are currently loaded — and how sensitive they can be to overloads or technical faults.
